Q. How long does it last?
A . This is dependent on the environment that the application is used in. If VuPlex is applied indoors, it will last much longer than an outdoor application. The average outdoor durability would be approximately three (3) months or if the clarity or shine is starting to be lost, just re-apply.
Q. How long does the can go?
A. Approximate can coverage:-
375g = 30 m2
200g = 16 m2
50g = 5 m2
Q. Does VuPlex contain silicone?
A. Yes, but only small amounts and it is not the curing type that binds to the surface.
Q. Can you use this product on the outside of a car windscreen?
A. Yes you are able to use it on the outside windscreen and it is very efficient in making sand pitting less visible and acting similar to other water dispersant products, however, we don't recommend this application due to the windscreen wipers "chattering" across the surface of the windscreen possibly impeding clarity of vision.
FOR MY MOTORCYCLE
Q. Can I still use VuPlex on my bike if it's not plastic?
A. VuPlex is designed as a plastic cleaner and will clean and maintain the clarity of windscreens and helmet visors and well as other hard and soft surfaces such as painted, chrome and vinyl surfaces. All motorcycles have these materials.
Q. Will VuPlex remove grease and chain lubrication off my wheel rims?
A. Yes, the formula is specifically designed to remove such materials. VuPlex will also remove bug splatters, road tar, rubber residue, sticker glue etc, from all surfaces and furthermore, make future grime, less likely to stick again.
Q. Can I use your product on my seat?
A. No, not advisable on seats as it makes the surface slippery
Q. Does VuPlex cause problems with iridium? (metallic coloured finish on plastic)
A. All real iridium only is benefited by VuPlex, but if there is any doubt, try on an inconspicuous area first.
Q. Is VuPlex an anti-fog agent?
A. No. VuPlex will not act as an anti-fog in very cold conditions.
Q. Will VuPlex improve vision in wet conditions?
A. Yes, VuPlex will shed water very efficiently off your windscreen and helmet visor. It is specifically designed for this purpose.
Q. Will your product burn on my chrome exhaust pipes?
A. No, the residual film have a very high temperature tolerance, however, it's best to use VuPlex when the pipes are cold.
FOR MY AIRCRAFT
Q. Is VuPlex certified for use on aircraft?
A. VuPlex doesn't have any certification as such. It is up to the individual manufacturers to endorse it or the owners to use it. There is no such regulation about cleaners to be used on acrylic aircraft windows. The best response is the track record of the product in the aviation industry in Australia. We are used by sectors of Qantas on the Bombardier Dash-8 aircraft.
Q. Does VuPlex have a Military Specification? (mil-spec PP 560)
A. This mil-spec is the American spec for care and maintenance of aircraft acrylic windows and is sometimes followed in other parts of the world as the normal. VuPlex meets or exceeds this spec although does not have an actual mil-spec rating.
Q. Does VuPlex cause windows to craze?
A. No. It is designed to slow this process down. Crazing (small fine cracks on the surface) is caused by moisture penetrating into the surface of the acrylic at ground level. When the aircraft goes to elevation and the temperature drops to below freezing, the moisture expands and forces the plastic apart, causing the small cracks. VuPlex is designed to seal the pores of the acrylic, locking out the moisture and avoiding the problem. In addition to this, VuPlex creates excellent water shedding qualities that makes vision clearer in rain.
Crazing can also be caused by the incorrect chemicals being used to clean the surface.
Q. If I use VuPlex on the painted fuselage, will it give me problems when I come to repaint it?
A. No. If proper painting preparations are carried out, VuPlex will not effect this procedure.
FOR MY MARINE CRAFT
Q. Can I use VuPlex on gelcoat?
A. Yes you can if the gelcoat is in reasonable condition. If it's too badly faded, you will need to use a cutting compound first to remove any heavy oxidization.
Q. Does VuPlex stop salt form sticking to my clears on my boat?
A. Yes, VuPlex seals the surface of plastic and makes water beads slide right off. When the water dries as a bead, the residual salt crystal doesn't stick to the surface and is easily removed with fresh water.
Q. What makes my acrylic widows and flexible clears (insulglass) go milky and opaque?
A. Acrylic material (Perspex, Plexiglas) is very easily scratched, particularly in marine environments where sand and dried salt crystals quickly abrade the surface if not cleaned correctly. In addition to this salt can hide in the scratches and pores of the plastic. When this salt dries coupled with micro-scratching , it accumulates and creates an opaque appearance.
Clear PVC (clears or insulglass) used for bimini tops, dodgers, fly bridges also falls fate to salt impregnation. Clear flexible PVC is very porous and over time accumulates salt, creating an unsafe opaque look. Also if Clear PVC is immersed in water for any length of time, it will absorb moisture that will cause bad fogging. This can be solved by drying in the sun for a day or so.
Q. How does VuPlex work to make plastic windows so clear again?
A. VuPlex works on boat windows in 4 ways.
Cleans the salt and other contaminates away from the pores and scratches using safe chemicals that won't harm the plastic.
Removes static that attracts dust, dirt and abrasives to the surface.
Deposits a waterproof polymer film that also repels water and salt.
Increases scratch resistance by increasing surface slip.
Q. Can I use VuPlex on my depth finder and fish finder screens?
A. Yes, this is a perfect application. VuPlex helps protect the screen form scratching and maintains maximum vision to the information.
Q. Can I use VuPlex on my instrument fascias and high gloss wood veneers?
A. Yes another great application.
Q. What about vinyl seat material?
A. Yes, it cleans this as well.
Q. Will VuPlex remove squid ink?

Q. Will VuPlex remove mould from my clears?
A. Yes, if the mould has not pitted the surface of the clears too badly.
Q. Will it clean the top side roof of my Biminis top?
A. No it is not recommended for this application.
Q. Is VuPlex safe to leave on board my boat?
A. Yes, the can is specifically designed to withstand the marine environment. It will not rust or corrode.
